How to use VoIPCOOP
Here's a quick guide to help you make the most of this simple app to chat with your friends while gaming.
If we want our friends to call us, we just need to set a nickname and then activate the call button until it turns green. This way, they'll know we're ready to connect!
To allow other peers to join the call, it’s essential to have this button activated. Let me explain with an example:
if we connect to a friend and a third friend wants to join, but the server button is disabled, that third person will only connect to the friend you’re connected to, not to you. This happens because the server button being off prevents a direct connection with the others in the call. In simple terms, if you plan to make a group call, everyone needs to have the server button activated. This ensures that when you connect to one person, you instantly connect to everyone else in the group.
The next step is to call a friend. To do this, your friend needs to share their IP address, which can be found in the "My IPs" section. Typically, the IP starting with 192 is the local one. If your friend is connected to the same Wi-Fi network, use that local IP. However, if your friend is far away and you're playing via VPN, you can use the VPN's IP address to connect.
Your friend should enter the IP in the "Enter IP to call" field and click the join button, which will activate once an IP is entered.
